NDIS support
NDIS counselling, gentle and neurodivergent-affirming
Calm, unhurried online counselling for NDIS participants across Australia.
A space where you never need to mask
NDIS counselling with me is a calm, unhurried space where you can feel safe, seen and never need to mask. I support self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants, online across Australia, from my base in Noosa on the Sunshine Coast.
What might change if you didn't have to mask?
An NDIS counsellor who understands
I bring over 7 years' experience as a support worker, and a grounded understanding of neurodivergence, emotional regulation, and the complexities individuals and families can navigate. I have supported people with autism, ADHD and Down syndrome, as well as in aged care settings.
If you are looking for an NDIS counsellor who won't rush you, and who understands that every nervous system is different, you are welcome here. That experience also shapes my counselling more broadly, especially when we explore relationships, family dynamics and life transitions.
Neurodivergent-affirming support
NDIS therapy with me is shaped around you: your pace, your sensory needs and the way you communicate best. When we feel safe, we don't need to perform, and real understanding can begin.
I will never ask you to hide who you are. Sessions are held online, by secure video or phone, so you can be in a space that feels comfortable and familiar to you.
What sessions can support
NDIS mental health support looks different for everyone. Psychosocial disability is the term the NDIS uses for a disability that may arise from a mental health condition, and you are welcome to talk with me in your own words about what daily life feels like for you. Sessions may support:
Emotional regulation
Anxiety and overwhelm
Self-understanding
Relationships and family dynamics
Life transitions
Gently building confidence and independence
How NDIS funding can work
Counselling is often funded through the Improved Daily Living category of NDIS capacity building supports, when it is included in your plan. Capacity building is about growing skills, confidence and independence, which is where counselling can help.
Every plan is different, so please check your plan, or ask your plan manager, support coordinator or local area coordinator whether counselling fits your goals. I can't promise that funding will be approved.
Self-managed participants are warmly welcome.
Plan-managed participants are warmly welcome.
[Alana to confirm whether she can support NDIA-managed participants.]
A receipt is provided after sessions for reimbursement. [Alana to confirm invoicing for plan managers and how NDIS sessions are charged.] You'll find general fees and what to expect on the Fees & FAQs page.
WHEN YOU’RE READY
Begin when you're ready
Taking the first step should feel safe and low-pressure. Share a little about what is bringing you here, and let me know if you are an NDIS participant, and whether your plan is self-managed or plan-managed. I will reply personally to talk through what comes next. Let's begin when you're ready.
