FIND CLARITY THROUGH STILLNESS

Mindful Therapy & Holistic Healing

Hello, I’m Alana. I’m a counsellor based in Noosa Heads on the Sunshine Coast, supporting adults to reconnect with themselves, release what no longer serves them, and find ease, balance, and joy in life.

I offer a calm, safe, and welcoming space where you can explore your emotions, reflect on your patterns, and build resilience at your own pace. Whether you’re navigating grief, anxiety, trauma, or life transitions, I’m here to guide you with clarity and compassion.

My path

My journey began in unexpected places — teaching English in Thailand, studying and teaching yoga, and guiding wellness retreats in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and Hawaii. I have extensive time in India undergoing Ayurvedic treatment and further studying. Over time, I felt drawn to deeper listening and sustained therapeutic work: to sit with others not only in moments of stillness that yoga classes offered, but through the tender, personal and often complex process of understanding ourselves, our patterns, and our ways of becoming and of letting go of pain.

What started as an interest in natural medicine and movement blossomed into a calling: to walk alongside others not only in times of ease, but also through the vulnerable terrain of healing. To be a companion in the quiet work of remembering, not who we should be, fixing, needing to change any part of ourselves, or any kind of diagnosing, but bringing attention toward our innate strengths and who we already are beneath the noise.

I hold a Bachelor of Counselling from the University of the Sunshine Coast and am a current member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Alongside this I have had immersive studies in Ayurveda and yoga.

An Integrative Approach

I draw on evidence-based therapies such as narrative therapy, IFS, and ACT-informed approaches, while gently integrating mindfulness, nervous system regulation, body-aware practices, and principles of positive psychology. For those who feel drawn to it, we can also explore the spiritual or meaning-centred aspects of your experience in a way that feels safe and aligned for you.

A deep curiosity for the world, and a desire to heal from my own complex trauma, took me on a journey of nearly ten years, exploring yoga, mindfulness, and the practice of turning inward through self-enquiry.

For over a decade, I’ve been immersed in the world of health, wellness, and healing — holding space for others through yoga, Ayurveda, and retreat work, and now in the deeply human work of counselling. My style is calm, grounded, and collaborative, guided by compassion, curiosity, and gentle awareness.

I draw on evidence-based therapies such as narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and ACT-informed approaches, while gently integrating mindfulness, nervous system regulation, body-aware practices, and principles of positive psychology. For those who feel drawn to it, we can also explore the spiritual or meaning-centred aspects of your experience in a way that feels safe, grounded, and aligned with you.

Integrating these different methods allows sessions to be tailored to suit you, supporting your whole-person wellbeing and creating space for growth at your own pace.

Outside the Therapy Room

You’ll usually find me near the sea — surfing, walking the shoreline, practicing or teaching yoga, cooking slow meals, reading, or curled up with my cat. These simple rituals ground me and help me show up to my work with presence and care.

My philosophy centers on creating a space where everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered. Healing is not just about managing symptoms — it’s about reconnecting with your whole self. Counselling is not only about reflection or insight—it’s about connection, mindfulness, and growth.

You are more than what you’re struggling with. Mind, body, emotions, and meaning are deeply intertwined, and our work reflects this. Even the parts that feel stuck, anxious, or protective developed in service of you. My role is not to fix or change, or tell you what to do you, but to walk beside you — offering steadiness, a mirror, curiosity, and care as you reconnect with yourself at your own pace. In this space, every part of you is welcome.

PHILOSOPHY & VALUES

Compassion for every journey

Every therapeutic journey is unique. I honour where you are today. My approach is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and gentle awareness. Our work turns toward compassion over correction, and understanding — meeting patterns, protective parts, and past experiences with curiosity and care.

Safety & Attuned Presence

I believe that healing begins within — and grows in the presence of understanding and safe connection. Each person carries an inner wisdom, even if it feels hidden or far away.

Lasting change happens when we feel safe enough to soften. I offer a calm, grounded space where your nervous system can settle and your story can unfold without pressure or judgment.

Whole-Person Care

You are more than what you’re struggling with. Mind, body, emotions, and meaning are deeply intertwined, and our work reflects this.

As a trauma-informed counsellor, I don’t see coping patterns as flaws but as intelligent survival responses shaped by life experience. Together, we approach these patterns with gentle awareness and curiosity rather than judgment. I draw on evidence-based and integrative therapies, weaving in mindfulness and gentle, body-aware practices that support nervous system regulation — creating the safety needed for new ways of being to emerge in a grounded and sustainable way.

  • Over the years, I’ve been drawn to deeper listening and supporting others through their healing journeys. My work integrates yoga, Ayurveda, and retreat facilitation with formal counselling training.

A Space to Begin

You don’t need to have it all figured out — none of us do. If something inside you is seeking space or support, I would be honoured to walk alongside you, offering clarity and calm, compassionate guidance. My hope is that you feel truly seen, heard, and understood.

Though we can’t predict or control what will come up next or how we will feel about it, we can do something about how we react. We can work on how we relate to whatever comes up.
