Group Counselling

SUPPORT IN A SMALL GROUP

How Group Counselling Works

Group counselling offers a supportive and contained space to explore your experiences alongside others. In a small, closed group, you are not only heard by a therapist, but witnessed by people who may share similar struggles.

As a strengths-based counsellor, I work with emotional overwhelm through an integrative, evidence-based approach that includes a focus on the nervous system. Our work together is not about fixing what is wrong, but about building internal resources, resilience, and steadiness from within.

Meeting weekly or fortnightly over six structured sessions, this group is designed to create consistency, trust, and emotional safety over time. Each session provides gentle guidance and direction to support progress, while allowing space for real conversation, reflection, and connection. With a maximum of six members, the space remains intimate and steady, allowing deeper connection and support.

Group counselling can be especially supportive if you are navigating emotional overwhelm, relationship patterns, trauma recovery, or a sense of isolation. Being in community often helps soften shame and build confidence in relating to others.

If you feel drawn to this kind of shared healing space, you are welcome to apply below to future intake start dates.

Teen Wellbeing Groups (Ages 14–18)

I’m currently facilitating two 6-week teen programs through Noosa Council, beginning May 20:

  • Healthy Hormones: Teen Circles for Girls
A gentle 6-week circle for teen girls (14–18) to build confidence, understand their changing bodies and emotions, and learn simple tools for emotional regulation and wellbeing.

This supportive small-group program is designed to help teen girls feel more grounded, connected, and confident during a key stage of emotional and physical development.

Over 6 weeks, participants are guided through age-appropriate education, reflection, journaling, and gentle nervous system tools to support emotional awareness, body confidence, and resilience.

Each session offers a safe and supportive space where girls can feel understood, less alone, and more equipped to navigate stress, friendships, identity, and emotional overwhelm.

  • Clear Skies: Teen Emotional Strengths Program
Clear Skies is a 6-week strength-based wellbeing program for teenagers aged 14–18, designed to support emotional regulation, confidence, and self-understanding.

This program helps teens build emotional strengths, develop resilience, and learn practical tools for managing stress, overwhelm, and everyday emotional challenges in a safe and supportive group environment.

Rather than focusing on problems, Clear Skies focuses on what is already working — helping teens recognise their strengths and build from there.

Through guided discussion, reflection, journaling, movement, and simple nervous system tools, participants learn how to understand their emotions and respond to them in healthier, more grounded ways.

Spaces are limited in each group to support safety and connection. Please still express interest and I will fit you in the next round if spaces fill up.

Price: Free. Supported by Living Well, Noosa Council.

If you’d like a detailed 6-week focus plan outlining what each session covers and the progression of the group, you’re welcome to submit a request and I will send it to you.

Additional groups may be shaped around community interest, and expressions of interest are welcome.
